Crescendo is an oil painting born out of the memory of a beautiful sunrise over Virginia Beach. I was in the beach town overnight to pick up pottery from one of the artists whose works we used to carry in the gallery, and a huge perk of traveling that far from my home on Delaware's coast was staying oceanfront during the uncrowded offseason. It was sweatshirt weather in the morning, but warmed up quickly and was never too cold to walk barefoot in the sand. It was so calming walking in the fresh salt air and watching the slight glow on the horizon spread to whispy clouds overhead. The sounds of gentle waves lapping on the shore and seagulls calling out their morning's greetings as they searched for breakfast remind me why I've never strayed too far from the shore for long. I love the feeling of this painting and wanted to share it, so here it is in print form for you and yours to enjoy. I hope you do. -- Ellen
