Reference for Louisa. Love this one and it doesn't have sunglasses.
Playing paper dolls when figuring out composition. I loved this pic the way it was, but sunglasses prevented seeing Lou's eyes.
Initial sketches, also cut and pasted for positioning.
Sprayed with fixative so it won't smear when traced to canvas. It got darker, as you can see.
Outline of drawing transferred to canvas using a special artist's non-carbon paper.
A plastic sheet of frisket has been applied to the canvas. It will be cut out, leaving the girls covered.
Cutting very carefully.
Results.
Starting initial background color with frisket covering the girls so they won't have the color in their faces.
The colors are softer in real life. Will add more in between images later.
