OUR LOCATION, COMBINING NATURE & FINE ART
The Ellen Rice Studio is situated in a purposefully built building overlooking the James Farm Ecological Preserve in front of the artist's home. The property is in a quiet residential development called The Reservation on the Cedar Neck Peninsula that juts into Indian River Bay on the outskirts of Ocean View, Delaware.
The studio's plain, grey exterior seen from the front approach belies the interior, which has north-facing floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ecological preserve. The tall, north facing windows and sliding glass doors provide ideal light for both painting and viewing the artist's paintings, paintings in progress, and prints.
The scenery outside the windows is always changing. It's not unusual to see deer grazing or walking by, sometimes wild turkeys strutting behind them, and a variety of birds and other wildlife.
The Ellen Rice Studio is about one mile west of the ocean as the seagull flies and approximately 2 miles northwest of Bethany Beach, about 30 minutes south of Rehoboth Beach and 15 minutes north of Fenwick Island and Ocean City, Maryland, depending on traffic, and about a 45-minute drive from Assateague Island and the famed ponies.
When visiting, please park in the driveway's parking areas inside the property's gates. Please DON'T park in front of neighbors' homes, driveways or on their yards!!! Thank you!
